The easiest way is usually the video call app already on your phone or tablet, as long as your family uses it too. Pick one app together. Then stick with it.
Getting ready
- Charge your device, or keep it plugged in during the call.
- Connect to your home Wi-Fi.
- Prop the screen up so your hands are free.
- Sit facing a window or lamp, so your face is bright.
During the call
- Can’t hear? Press the volume button on the side.
- Can’t see them? Look for the camera button and make sure it’s on.
- Picture frozen? Wait a moment. If it stays stuck, hang up and call again.
Ask a family member to call you a few times first. Answering a call is easier than starting one.
